Welcome to
Saudi Arabia Nature Photography
by Théo
Saudi Arabia is a beautiful and distinctive country and if you like desert places this is a place you will admire. During the last years of off-road traveling, I come up with this photo and video collection, which finally I share it online. Initially driven by discovering the sandy deserts, I realized the Arabian landscape has much more to offer. As always passionate about photography and trips, I am still surprised to see unique beauty and untouched variety of desert landscapes, which I immediately fell in love with. This area is rich in sandy deserts, black aches deserts, volcanos, lava fields, fossilized corals, pebbles fields, stone arches, mushroom rocks, meteor craters, and others geological futures. Many of those places have a unique atmosphere and accompanied by ancient rock art drawing. Petroglyphs still remember when this land was a home for many animals like ostriches, lions, Oryx antelopes, and hyenas. A long time ago, humankind built structures that back-in-the-day use remains still a mystery. Although there is intense research on that land, and hypotheses raised. Now, after the millenniums of climate change and human activity, those scare remains nostalgically recall the old ages of the forgotten times of hunting, trading, and nomads. The life back there was certainly not easy, and even today some of the places are challenging to access. Although I tried my best to include some additional notes about the context behind the photos, the page is about my photo adventure in Saudi Arabia. Also, I have a strict personal policy about sharing coordinates as many of those fragile places are still not ready for visitors. I spent many weekends neither with off-road trips or planning future ones. Many nights fixing the car, trip planning or processing photos were fruitful and made it possible to bring that page online. Thus, I feel honored to explore the kingdom, and even now, I learn something new every day about this nation.
I create this page in mind of my family and friends who, unfortunately, could not always join my trips but can at least experience the taste of my Arabic adventures. Said that I would like to dedicate in the first place this page to my Mother than Magda and Paweł. And last but not least important, Greg, who invited me to in-numerous crazy(!!) adventures during which he shared his rich experience in logistics, navigation, and serious off-road driving.
